Jessica Bostany is a multitalented performing artist, choreographer and instructor. She brings a fun, fiery, and energetic presence to her hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. She has trained in numerous dance styles since the age of five. The aforementioned styles include: jazz, tap, ballet, modern, contemporary, belly dancing and hip-hop. Jessica graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.A. in Dance and a minor in General Business. She has performed and trained all over the United States, from New York to Los Angeles.

She danced with contemporary company DANCEe in Birmingham teaching and performing at local schools and events including “Wild Rumpus,” a sensory friendly show at the Alys Stephen Center. Jessica danced in the 1st and 2nd ever live stereoscopic 3D shows at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood working with notable choreographers Eddie Garcia, Chris Judd, and Dave Scott. In Birmingham, Jessica has choreographed and performed in music videos and on stage for talents such as Saint Paul and the Broken Bones, The Seratones, Matt Carroll, and DJ Coco. When she isn’t dancing she loves to be on film, she was cast in the movie 42, the ESPN “Roll Tide” commercial, Shipt commercial, and was featured for an IN Birmingham visitors bureau commercial “Whatever Moves You.” She performed “Glimpse” performances around the city with DANCEe where she was highlighted on a billboard and magazine for B-Metro magazine.

Growing dance programs is one of Jessica’s  strengths, she started a hip hop program and competition team at Vestavia Dance and “Hip Hop Hump Day” at Forma Arts and Wellness. She has taught at universities, schools, studios, festivals, corporate businesses and has assisted renowned choreographers for dance conventions at Show Stoppers and Hollywood Dance Jamz.

Her most recent performance was with “SYTYCD” belly dancer Janelle Issis on her “EveryBODY is a bellydance BODY” float in the Dance Parade NYC with a grandstand and main stage performance in Tompkins Square Park. Bellydance is a big part of Jessica’s heritage being half Lebanese and growing up in the Lebanese community. She loves the freedom and inclusivity of middle eastern dance and has performed and taught at numerous conventions, events, festivals and venues throughout the US.

After moving to Florida and spending 3 years “moving” the panhandle Jessica is back in Birmingham and continues to teach and choreograph as a freelance artist with a mission to “move” Birmingham. In 2021 Jessica combined bellydance and hip hop to create her own fusion style of dance called “BELLYHOP," which she debuted in a performance at The World Games 2022. Jessica has a tenacity to accomplish her goals and open her own healing arts studio, she wants to inspire others through her dancing and mission to move B’ham. Her passion exudes the love and gratitude she has for the grace of her God-given talents and she is excited to share the gift of healing through movement in dance and stillness in restorative yoga for many years to come.

 

Jessica is available for performing, private lessons, classes, workshops, and choreography. With a B.S in Dance and real world teaching experience from adults to children, she has the educational background to help you accomplish your goals.
